New Business Suite From flydubai Offers Premium Business Class Experience

Airline flydubai promises enhanced comfort, privacy, and an exceptional travel experience for passengers from the new Business Suite premium business class experience, slated to be available by year’s end. Introduced in early May at the Arabian Travel Market trade show in Dubai, the suite is designed exclusively for single-aisle aircraft. It provides business class passengers with direct aisle access that rivals the capability available on many wide-body aircraft. flydubai is the launch customer for the Business Suite, which is manufactured by Safran Seats and was designed by JPA Design.

“The new business suite will take comfort on board to the next level,” says Daniel Kerrison, flydubai vice president of inflight product. “The increased height of the back-shell, a sliding suite door, and direct aisle access for every passenger create a level of privacy never before seen on Boeing 737s. We have been working with Safran Seats and JPA Design over the past three years to develop an experience that meets the growing demand for premium air travel services across our network, offering passengers wide-body comfort on our narrow-body fleet.”

The Suite Life

Launched in 2009, flydubai operates a fleet of 76 aircraft that connect passengers to 120 designations in 52 countries. The carrier introduced its first business class experience in 2013, equipping 12 Business Class seats in Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft. In 2017, it introduced its signature Lie-flat Business Seat in 31 Boeing 737 Max 8 and three Boeing Max 9 aircraft. A recliner Business Seat designed predominantly for shorter and medium routes followed in 2021.

The airline will initially incorporate 10 Business Suites into several of its newest aircraft. The experience comprises a Lie-flat seat, a privacy door, a vanity mirror, power outlets, and enclosed stowage. flydubai says the design keeps clutter to a minimum, and the stowage compartment's flip-down bi-fold table makes for a better dining experience. The suite also features ample ambient lighting, electronically dimmable windows, and a reading light. For entertainment, there’s a 17.3-inch 4K touchscreen display with Bluetooth headphone pairing.
