Description
If you’ve been following prices of the Piper PA-32s over in the US, you’d know this type is finally commanding the prices to match its ability. The space available for both people and baggage makes it a GA business tool, and that is what N2989M has been. The owner has relied on this aircraft for meetings all over the UK, France and the continent that he simply had to attend. As a result, the panel has been comprehensively updated to allow IFR flight in a stress-free fashion, and the airframe has been cleaned up with speed mods that allow true airspeeds of over 145kts in flight. A keen eye will see the spats and various gap seals & fairings applied to make her faster than the rest of the field.
This is a late model 1978 airframe with 6173hrs TT and 1260hrs on the 300HP IO-540-K1G5 engine and Hartzell 3-blade prop installed March 2014. The aircraft has been hangared in the owner's heated hangar since importation in June 2005, and they have now traded up to a turbine aircraft.
The panel is exceptional with a Garmin GMA-340 Audio Panel, Garmin GTN-650 WAAS GPS/Nav/Com working with Aspen 1000 PFD, Garmin GNS-430 with Garmin GI-106A indicator. There is an Avidyne TCAS 600 Traffic system, which is a high-value item, along with the S-Tec System 30 Alt Autopilot. The DME is King KN64, and the Mode S transponder is Garmin GTX-330. The owner has also added the Precise Flight System III standby vacuum system. In July 2019, the aircraft was repainted in distinctive colours where the company branding was decaled on for easy removal. The interior has been updated with beige leather seats, new side trims and distinctive tartan inlays.
