If you only ever buy one airplane, buy this one. The DA40 NG is the modern four-place single — the airplane experienced owners hand their friends when they ask what to start with, and the one a lot of them never get around to trading. Single-lever FADEC power on Jet-A, a fuel burn no other four-seater comes close to, honest cross-country speed, and a safety record that isn't marketing but statistics. It is also, and this matters more than spec sheets admit, genuinely fun to fly — light on the controls, beautifully mannered, and sitting under a panoramic tinted canopy that makes every other cockpit feel like a bunker.
N627PS is the well-optioned version of it. Full Garmin G1000 NXi with twin ten-inch displays, GFC 700 autopilot, Synthetic Vision, ADS-B In and Out, SiriusXM datalink weather, and Flight Stream 510 so your flight plan loads from your tablet. Air conditioning on its own alternator, which in Florida or Texas is the difference between flying in July and talking about flying in July. Beringer wheels and brakes, electrically operated flaps, electrically adjustable rudder pedals, LED lighting throughout, perforated leather ergonomic seats and Bose six-pin plugs front and back.
